I recently was accepted to Exposed , an outdoor sculpture exhibit created by the Helen Day Art Center in Stowe, VT. This is a "sketch", well, a photo really, taken from my 2011 exhibit at the Bromfield Gallery in Boston, which will inspire my work for Exposed . I will be creating a new site specific piece for the front window of a coffee shop in the center of town called Black Cap Cafe. The exhibit was juried by 4 young women curators including Lexi Lee Sullivan of the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Anna Stothart of the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Amy Rahn, a local arts writer,  and Kathleen Smith, exhibit coordinator at the New Art Center in Newton, MA. My piece will be on view in the far left window. I will be eliciting doodles from willing residents of the town of Stowe during my residency weeks at the Vermont Studio Center this coming March. Last month I had Will Howcroft , Boston area photographer par excellence, take pics of my new work in preparation for my summer exhibit at Art Complex Museum in Duxbury, MA. I had my stockpile of canvases, 17 all together, trucked to ArtSpace Maynard where I was able to spread them out and view the pieces in a lovely large gallery space. The entire day was exhausting and fraught (the movers had not brought a van big enough to carry them, so instead they tied them to the top of the van - very nerve racking!) But fortunately it was a worthwhile adventure, if only to be able to really see how the work played off each other. This is hard for me to do in my basement studio. So what do I make of this newest body of work, more minimal than anything I've ever done, larger than anything I've done except for the wall installations?
